Mercury is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own end-to-end system design for our card and payment platform. You will work across the stack, from card experiences to backend money movement, with a strong emphasis on reliability and customer impact.

You will lead initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, design, operations, risk, compliance, and sales to deliver robust features in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Formación

• Strong full-stack experience with a product mindset and systems thinking.
• Ability to make architectural decisions on complex systems and explain trade-offs.
• Comfort in mentoring others and raising engineering quality.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle ambiguity.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, especially Haskell/TypeScript.

Responsabilidades

• Lead projects from idea to spec to implementation to launch with your team.
• Learn how debit/credit card processing works end-to-end and apply that knowledge daily.
• Build features across the stack, including card experiences and backend money movement.
• Maintain high observability and reliability across Mercury's systems.
• Mentor engineers through design/code reviews and collaboration.
• Collaborate with product, design, operations, risk, compliance, and sales.
