Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the Vehicle Order Fulfillment team to design and deliver enterprise-grade Java and React solutions that support GM's manufacturing footprint.

You will lead a team to modernize critical applications, ensure reliability, and align with product goals in a hybrid work environment. Responsibilities include technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, building scalable platforms with Quarkus, Docker, Kubernetes on OpenShift, and driving robust

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering with strong Java focus.
• 2+ years mentoring peers and driving technical initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with React, Quarkus, Hibernate, REST APIs, microservices, and design patterns.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions), automated testing, and agile methodologies.
• Strong debugging and optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications (Java/React).
• Promote engineering excellence through SOLID, TDD, and clean architecture.
• Drive modern infrastructure using Quarkus, Docker, Kubernetes on OpenShift and CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and align with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver value.
• Propose new technologies and architectural approaches to improve the organization.
