Job summary

General Motors is seeking a senior software engineer to design, build, and safeguard the quality of applications across the PVSQ organization. You may work on end-to-end features with Java back‑ends, a Next.js/React portal, and Databricks lakehouse, or focus on test automation to keep systems reliable.

You will write software hands‑on from requirements and help drive delivery, code reviews, and tests, while mentoring others and aligning with design patterns and standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and shipping production software.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs with versioned contracts.
• Strong full‑stack capability from UI to data layer.
• Experience with cloud services (Azure) and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with Databricks, data lakes, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain back-end microservices in Java (Quarkus or Spring Boot).
• Build front-end features in Next.js / React with TypeScript.
• Develop data workflows in Databricks and manage relational schemas.
• Lead and review code, write tests across unit/integration/end-to-end.
