Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Atlas Clusters Organization. You will design and build new features for MongoDB Atlas, focusing on encryption at rest with customer-managed keys across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Join a team responsible for security and compliance in highly regulated markets, mentor teammates, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with product and design to deliver robust, scalable backend systems.

Qualifications

• Experience designing large-scale backend systems in a compiled language (Java, Go, etc.).
• Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience leading feature launches and maintaining production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new features for MongoDB Atlas.
• Contribute to and lead complex technical projects.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to keep the user’s perspective.
• Design and operate encryption and key-management systems in production, and lead fleet-wide rollouts.
• Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues, including encryption and key-management problems on customer clusters.
• Mentor teammates and participate in on-call rotations to support Atlas production services.
