Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Millersville, MD is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Advanced Sonar Systems. The role focuses on developing and integrating C/C++ software for sonar systems, including GUI, embedded control, and Linux- or Windows-based platforms.

The successful candidate will guide software design, perform reviews, estimate costs, and mentor team members while collaborating with cross-functional partners. Travel up to 25% and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing software in C/C++, C#.
• At least 2 years of embedded software experience and UI development on Windows and Linux desktops.
• Experience with project management and leadership within a technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software using C/C++ and C#.
• Develop software for sonar systems including GUI and embedded components.
• Lead technical reviews and support estimates of labor and resources.
• Ensure code quality through verification, validation, and documentation.
• Prepare design review materials for SRR, PDR, CDR and audits.
