Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Sr. Associate, Software Engineer (C/C++) for our Herndon, VA site. The role focuses on developing C/C++ software for sonar systems, including application level and embedded work, on Linux.

The candidate will design, test, and document software, support system integration, and ensure quality with strong engineering practices. On-site work with a 9/80 schedule and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 2+ years of related software experience, or a graduate degree with at least 1 year’s experience.
• 2+ years of C/C++ software design and development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software using C/C++ on Linux and embedded RTOS.
• Perform software design, verification, and validation for sonar systems.
• Modify and enhance existing software for operational systems or test facilities.
• Provide independent validation and verification of design concepts.
• Develop, test, and document code and support integration.
• Maintain software configuration management to reflect current versions.
