Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Software Engineer (C/C++) to design and implement software for sonar systems at the Herndon, VA site. The role includes Linux-based GUI and embedded control work, software requirements, testing, and integration in a demanding defense environment.

Responsibilities cover design, development, documentation, configuration management, and supporting verification activities. A Secret clearance is required or obtainable, with on-site work and a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 4+ years of experience (or graduate degree with 2+ years).
• 4+ years experience designing and implementing software in C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software using C/C++ on Linux, and embedded real time operating systems.
• Develop software requirements, verification, and validation for sonar systems.
• Modify and enhance existing software for operational systems or test facilities.
• Provide independent validation and verification of design concepts and implementation approaches.
• Develop, test, and document software code, and support integration.
