Job summary

Johnson Health Tech is seeking a Software Engineer III to drive development across embedded firmware, mobile, desktop, web, and cloud applications. You will own PoCs end-to-end, make design decisions, and collaborate with hardware teams and Product Management.

The role emphasizes rapid iteration, cross-functional delivery, and supporting manufacturing environments. This on-site position requires strong engineering judgment and team leadership without direct supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in two or more languages such as C++, C#, Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Version control (Git).
• Ability to pick up new languages and/or frameworks as needed for a given project.
• Ability to interact with, program, and debug physical hardware.
• Application development in mobile, desktop, or web.
• CI/CD knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Understand and integrate potential new technologies, features into Johnson products.
• Design, implement, test, and debug software across the product stack from embedded firmware to mobile, web, and cloud applications.
• Create proof-of-concepts (PoC) and partner with the Product Management team for review and refinement.
• Evaluate and test for viability and risk mitigation.
• Transition PoC’s to engineering teams based on Asia sourcing and manufacturing.
• Develop and document design and specifications.
• Lead code reviews.
• Contribute to new intellectual property and IP workarounds.
• Guide and support junior engineers.
• Other projects as assigned.
