Job summary

ARES Corporation seeks a Software Engineer to support NORAD SIT/CCIC2S projects at Cheyenne Mountain Complex. The role requires 4 onsite days in Colorado Springs, with travel 10–20% to CONUS/OCONUS.

You will contribute to mission-critical simulations and IT infrastructure within a robust defense environment. Requirements include a DoD Secret clearance or eligibility, Bachelor’s (or Master’s/PhD) in a related field and extensive DoD experience, plus strong Java/Perl/C/SQL/Python3/MATLAB skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field with twelve (12) years of experience; includes five (5) years DoD experience.
• Master’s or Doctorate in related field with ten (10) years of experience; includes five (5) years DoD experience.
• Proficient in Java, Perl, Visual Basic, C Family, SQL, Python 3, and MATLAB.
• Experience with full software development life cycle and agile development.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, virtualization, containerization, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of a government ran agile scenario development team.
• Provide analysis of simulation requirements with cost and time parameters.
• Interact with government team lead and vendors on simulations.
• Coordinate installation/removal of simulations and tools.
• Develop applications using models to predict outcomes and support validation.
• Write and document test plans, reports, and procedures.
• Use Python 3, MATLAB; ensure source code is documented and reusable.
• Interface with test/operational personnel to meet user needs.
