Job summary

Sigma Defense Systems LLC in Norfolk, VA seeks a Software Engineer to support full-lifecycle software development for mission-critical systems. Hybrid work allows remote options with on-site requirements. Responsibilities cover architecture, integration, DevSecOps, and system demos in a DoD-focused environment.

Required are extensive experience, DoD security clearance eligibility, and strong MBSE knowledge. Bachelor's is mandatory; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience (or 14+ with a BS).
• Experience applying modern software development methodologies (Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps).
• 2+ years of Kubernetes experience.
• DoDAF architecture views and MBSE tool usage.
• Virtualization and containerization knowledge.
• U.S. citizen; ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile planning, execution, and delivery including PI planning and sprints.
• Coordinate with Product Owners and teams to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Provide technical leadership across software projects: design, integration, and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Oversee troubleshooting, performance issues, and coordinate with government stakeholders.
• Guide architecture development including microservices, REST APIs, containers, and cloud strategies.
• Maintain CM processes, baselines, and traceability across design and code.
• Support RMF compliance and accreditation documentation.
