Job summary

Katmai is seeking a senior software engineer to provide technical leadership across full-stack development, DevSecOps, and DoD accreditation tasks for Navy mission-critical systems.

You will design and deploy microservices and APIs, ensure secure coding, and coordinate with program managers to manage risks and documentation. Remote work is supported with possible onsite as needed.

Must hold active DoD Secret clearance and have experience with RMF/STIGs, AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Eight to ten years of software development experience.
• Proficient in one or more: Python, Java, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, C#.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and Git.
• Familiarity with DoD RMF, STIGs, and secure coding practices.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).
• Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices, APIs, and user interfaces.
• Lead the architectural design, development, and deployment of microservices, APIs, and user interfaces.
• Mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate applications with data sources; implement RBAC and audit logging.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to configuration baselines.
• Support Authority to Operate (ATO) sustainment tasks (STIGs, CVE mitigation).
