ID.me is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Developer Portal in Mountain View, CA. You will own significant portions of the platform, delivering end-to-end self-service experiences for onboarding, verification, and API integrations.

You’ll work with Next.js/React frontend and Java/Ruby backend services, shaping the future of developer integrations. You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering, contributing to platform infrastructure, authentication, and authorization

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience building and operating production web applications.
• 3+ years building developer-facing platforms such as developer portals, API platforms, or self-service experiences.
• 3+ years of experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js or similar, plus backend exposure (Ruby/Java/Node.js).
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tooling and an AI-first engineering mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build self-service developer experiences from design through production.
• Own the developer experience and drive key metrics for onboarding and verification.
• Build platform infrastructure including micro-frontends, shared components, and API contracts.
• Collaborate with Identity, Organizations, Authorization, and Platform teams to evolve capabilities.
