Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a software engineer to participate in cross‑discipline teams, delivering aerospace software using agile practices. You may contribute as a team member or lead a small team, working with systems and test engineers to analyze and test complex solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years in software development with C++, Java, or Ada, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Onsite employment with relocation eligibility is offered.

What You Will Do:
  • Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications
  • Responsible for some or all of a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly leading a small software team.
  • Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of relevant professional experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar software object-oriented language
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required, note only U.S. Citizen can obtain security clearance.

  • Strong problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills
  • Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)
  • Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools
  • Experience developing software using Agile techniques such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, SAFe, Test‑Driven Development
  • Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with time‑critical requirements
  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration/Development & Integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Eclipse, and Ansible
  • Experience with Red Hat, Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, or other RTOS
  • Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles

  • The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
  • The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
