Job summary

Affirm in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced backend engineer to build and scale data platforms for real-time loan origination and financial reporting. You will guide teams through ambiguity, design scalable components, and mentor peers to raise the bar on quality.

You should have 4+ years in backend systems with Python or Kotlin, distributed data pipelines using Spark and Airflow, and strong communication skills to collaborate across product and data teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in backend systems using Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with distributed systems and data pipelines (Spark, Airflow).
• Proven ability to design scalable components and communicate clearly.
