Job summary

Affirm is seeking a backend-focused engineer to build and scale data platforms for real-time loan origination and financial reporting. You will guide engineers through ambiguity, set quarterly goals, and promote quality with design standards and mentorship.

Applicants should have 4+ years in backend systems (Python or Kotlin) and strong distributed systems experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes, plus Spark or Airflow for data pipelines.

• 4+ years of experience in backend systems using Python or Kotlin.
• Expertise in distributed systems with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scalable data pipelines using Spark or Airflow.
• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities
