Job summary

DocuSign is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Protection team to architect and build the cryptographic core for our global platform, including enterprise key management and data-at-rest security. You will work hands-on to deliver tested code, influence cryptographic standards, and collaborate across teams to protect customer data while supporting scalable, reliable services.

Hybrid work with in-office and remote options applies. This role reports to the Sr.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on development experience in C# or other object-oriented languages.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience in high-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud Key Management Services (KMS) and key lifecycle management.
• Experience with encryption fundamentals including key wrapping and lifecycle management.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cryptographic key management systems for full lifecycle support.
• Build and maintain tooling for health, observability, and reliability of cryptographic services.
• Drive encryption standards across the platform for data-at-rest and data-in-transit protection.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure data protection requirements are met.
• Contribute to threat modeling and security design reviews early in development.
• Develop high-quality, tested code and conduct security-focused reviews.
