Job summary

DocuSign is hiring a Software Engineer in Seattle to design, build, and operate backend services powering documents at global scale. You will own features end-to-end, contribute to reliability, performance, and security, and apply AI-native approaches to our document platform. This is a hybrid role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering.

You will work on Tier-0 services, handle large data volumes, and collaborate across teams to raise the engineering bar and deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend services.
• Experience developing microservices with C#.
• Experience operating high-availability services where uptime, security, and correctness are non-negotiable.
• Experience with large-scale, distributed systems.
• Experience owning and solving complex problems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services that power documents at Docusign at global scale.
• Own features end to end, design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
• Contribute to the reliability, performance, and security of Tier-0 services that other teams depend on.
• Apply AI-native development practices in how you build, and help build AI-powered capabilities on top of our documents.
• Participate in design and code reviews with a focus on resilience and graceful failure, not just functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across environments, and improve alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate across teams and help raise the engineering bar.
