Job summary

DocuSign, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Protection team. You will architect and implement cryptographic key management affecting global infrastructure and cross-service encryption controls.

You will own key lifecycles, tooling, and platform security, delivering trusted data protection to enterprise customers. This hands-on, IC role reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager, Data Protection.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on development experience in C# or other object-oriented languages.
• 8+ years of software engineering in high-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud Key Management Services and key lifecycle management.
• Experience with encryption fundamentals and cryptographic key lifecycle management.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build cryptographic key management systems across cloud environments at enterprise scale.
• Build and maintain tooling for health, observability, and reliability of cryptographic services.
• Drive encryption best practices across data-at-rest and data-in-transit protection.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure data protection requirements are supported.
• Contribute to threat modeling and security design reviews early in development.
• Develop ship-ready code with full test coverage.
• Conduct design and code reviews with a security and availability focus.
