Job summary

LeoLabs, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Software team. You will design and deliver mission-critical software powering real-time decisions for satellites and other LEO assets, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to DOD/IC contract work. This role requires a TS/SCI clearance and offers a remote arrangement for qualified candidates in the DC metro area.

Qualifications

• Active US TS/SCI clearance with DOD/IC mission experience.
• BS in CS or related field.
• 5+ years in professional software engineering building cloud-scale systems.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed backend services.
• Experience using generative AI for software development.
• Knowledge of architecture patterns, service boundaries, messaging workflows, and API design.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerized deployments.
• Experience with databases (Postgres/MySQL) and message brokers (Kafka, SQS).
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams; willingness for on-call.

Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack software powering real-time decision systems for satellite operations.
• Own features end-to-end with reliability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with radar/product teams to deliver platform capabilities.
• Support DOD/IC contract work and customer requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Incorporate AI-driven improvements to software quality and security.
