Job summary

LeoLabs is seeking a Senior Radar Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and optimize software for radar operations and space domain awareness missions. The role collaborates with radar systems, signal processing, data science, and software teams to deliver high-performance capabilities for mission-critical requirements.

The ideal candidate has radar/defense or real-time data processing experience and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming in Python and/or C++.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and data-intensive apps.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and DevOps practices.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Personnel Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for radar data collection, processing, and deployment.
• Develop interfaces and services for sensor operations, telemetry, data management, and mission execution.
• Create scalable software for radar control, monitoring, automation, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate capabilities into operational environments.
• Support architecture development and technical design reviews.
• Participate in system integration, verification, validation, and field testing.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform root-cause analysis for software/system anomalies.
• Contribute to best practices, code reviews, and documentation.
• Support customer demonstrations and technical briefings as needed.
