Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ Flyreel Engineering team seeks a seasoned software engineer to design, mentor, and deliver cross-system solutions for property risk assessment in the insurance sector. You’ll translate customer needs into robust software across Java, JavaScript, C/C++, SQL, and web technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Strong proficiency with data manipulation languages and optimization techniques.
• Good understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles.
• Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
• Expertise in development languages including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
• Knowledge of test-driven development and ability to complete complex bug fixes.

Responsibilities

• Interface with other technical personnel to finalize requirements.
• Write and review portions of detailed specifications for development of complex system components.
• Translate complex product requirements into software designs with other team members.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
• Work in Agile, Waterfall environments with stakeholders.
• Resolve complex technical issues and perform complex bug fixes.
• Mentor entry-level software engineers on development methodologies.
• Stay updated on new technology developments.
• Design and work with complex data models.
• Mentor less-senior developers on development techniques.
• All other duties as assigned.
