Job summary

Mondrian Alpha in New York is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Operating Platform Technology function, delivering production-grade software across front-end, back-end and data pipelines. You will own design, reliability, and evolution of critical systems, collaborating with Operations, Compliance, Treasury, Finance, Tax, Legal and HR to translate complex requirements into robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Strong full-stack background across modern front-end and back-end (C#/.NET or Python) and both relational and analytical data stores.
• Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications with containers, IaC and CI/CD practices.
• Strong grounding in software architecture, API design, data modelling and system integration.
• Experience modernising or re-platforming legacy systems without disrupting live operations.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate business/regulatory requirements for technical solutions.
• Comfortable diagnosing and resolving issues across a full production stack.
• Background in financial services or asset management, touching compliance, regulatory reporting, financial data, or accounting workflows.
• Experience building or integrating AI agent-based or LLM-powered workflows into production systems.
• Proven ability to design auditable systems handling sensitive data.
• Ownership mentality and ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
• Exposure to evaluating and introducing new technologies and engineering approaches.
