Job summary

Mondrian Alpha in New York City is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Technology team. The role focuses on cross-business platforms for middle/back-office, enabling scalable, secure systems and AI-enabled automation.

You will own projects from requirements through deployment, collaborating with senior stakeholders and modernising legacy applications toward cloud-based architectures.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering in production environments.
• Strong experience with C#/.NET and/or Python.
• Experience building modern full-stack apps; Angular exposure.
• Understanding of APIs, distributed systems, data modelling.
• Experience with relational databases and large financial datasets.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, containers and CI/CD.
• Financial services experience; trading, operations, risk, compliance preferred.
• Experience modernising legacy apps; ownership of projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop business-critical applications and services for middle/back-office functions.
• Build scalable back-end services, APIs, data platforms and intuitive user-facing apps.
• Modernise existing technology toward modular, cloud-based architecture.
• Own projects through full development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Work with business users to translate complex workflows into effective technical solutions.
• Explore opportunities to introduce AI and automation into processes.
• Build reliable, well-controlled systems with focus on data quality, security and resilience.
• Contribute to wider architectural and technology decisions.
