Western Union is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead modernization across NA and LACA. You will design, develop, and enhance applications, tools, workflows, and platform services using AI-assisted development and modern cloud approaches.

You will build AWS-based microservices, cloud data solutions, and scalable, secure services, collaborating with product, architecture, risk, and operations teams to deliver value across the region.

Qualifikationen

• 4+ years of software engineering with focus on security, reliability, scalability, observability, and operations.
• 4+ years building cloud-native apps and microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years developing on AWS including microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• 1+ years event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• 1+ years working with PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB and Redis/ElastiCache/Valkey.
• Experience with modernization, cloud migration or legacy transformation initiatives.
• 1+ years in Agile software development environments.

Aufgaben

• Contribute to payment platform modernization across NA and LACA regions.
• Design, develop, test, and support apps, workflows, internal tools, APIs and services using AI-assisted practices.
• Develop and modernize services with Java, Spring Boot, APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Build AWS-based microservices and cloud-native apps meeting performance and reliability goals.
• Develop cloud-native data solutions using PostgreSQL, Aurora and DynamoDB.
• Implement distributed caching with Redis/ElastiCache to optimize performance.
