Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure software for Higher Education Digital. You will lead modernization efforts, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, architecture, security, and operations to improve reliability and delivery velocity.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in OOP, design principles, and architecture patterns.
• Proficient in multiple modern languages and frameworks listed above.
• Experience with cloud-native development and AWS preferred.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives and collaborate across teams.
• Proven experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC practices.
• Experience with automated testing and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise-scale software and services.
• Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple systems and teams.
• Ensure quality, security, performance, and reliability of solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and provide guidance.
• Drive modern software practices including CI/CD and cloud-native architectures.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations to deliver outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership via code/design reviews and mentoring.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Identify risks and communicate them to stakeholders.
