Job summary

JPMorganChase in New York seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Connected Commerce, Travel division. You will be a core technical contributor delivering scalable, secure tech products and end-to-end solutions across multiple domains.

You’ll work in an agile team, contribute to design reviews, ensure production readiness, and integrate AI-assisted tooling while maintaining high standards for performance and security.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience delivering production systems in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot development, SQL, and event-driven/messaging systems such as SNS, SQS, and Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native services.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements complex features and services within owned domains; collaborates with upstream/downstream teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contributes to production readiness and operational excellence by helping define/meet SLOs/SLIs and improving observability.
• Applies secure-by-default and resilient design patterns in day-to-day development.
• Authors design proposals and participates in design reviews; partners with Architecture to align designs.
• Writes secure, concise production code and reviews/debugs across backend and frontend.
• Engages in pair programming, code reviews, and reliable estimation; builds user-facing experiences with performance/accessibility in mind.
• Applies database rigor across SQL/NoSQL to improve latency and throughput.
• Integrates AI-assisted tools into development workflows under governance and CI gates.
