Job summary

Amazon AWS IAM is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to build scalable identity and access management solutions for the cloud. You will lead software development across the full lifecycle, review designs, and contribute high‑quality code while ensuring security and performance.

You will drive operational excellence with telemetry, runbooks, and incident retrospectives, while mentoring teammates and guiding architectural decisions. Seattle location.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team’s software development and collaborate with peer teams to deliver end‑to‑end systems.
• Design and review code to ensure it fits the overall architecture, is extensible, performant and secure.
• Ensure operational practices with proper alarms, telemetry and runbooks; drive reliability and automation.
• Mentor team members, recruit, and provide career guidance to foster growth.
