Job summary

Lithic’s Authorization team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help design and build card authorization and fraud tooling. You will split time between coding and technical leadership, influencing architectural decisions and system reliability across a distributed, multi-region stack.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years shipping production-grade software, with passion for Rust, scalable distributed systems, and strong communication. This role is remote and collaborative across the US and Europe.

Qualifications

4+ years shipping code and leading projects in production environments.
Experience in or desire to learn Rust.
Strong distributed systems instincts and design skills.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and align diverse perspectives.
Interest and experience in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Write reliable, secure, and scalable code for Lithic's products with minimal tech debt.
Ensure high reliability and correctness for Lithic’s card payment authorization.
Own projects from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way.
Engage in design discussions and collaborate across teams to build well-reasoned solutions.
Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team.
Participate in the team on-call rotation.
