Job summary

Restream is seeking a senior backend engineer to join a small, ownership-driven team building AI-powered clips for a live-streaming platform. You will ship reliable services with a focus on simplicity, durability, and rapid iteration, owning critical systems end-to-end.

You will design APIs, tackle scaling challenges, and collaborate across languages in a cloud-first environment with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. Equity and strong product ownership are on offer.

Qualifications

• Must ship high-quality projects quickly.
• Deep expertise in at least one programming language.
• Strong database design across relational and NoSQL systems (Scylla, Redis).
• Hands-on experience creating, testing, consuming and supporting APIs for web services.
• Experience with AWS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and CD across multi-language stacks.
• Basic front-end skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; autonomous and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features in the web services that power the product
• Design and implement backend APIs and the business logic required to support new and existing features
• Participate in code review, both giving and receiving feedback with the team
• Track emerging technologies and surface practical opportunities within the environment
• Ensure redundancy and resilience of the production infrastructure

Requirements

• An entrepreneurial mindset that ships high-quality projects quickly
• Deep expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language
• Highly proficient in database design across both relational and NoSQL systems such as Scylla and Redis
• Hands-on experience creating, testing, consuming, and supporting APIs for web services
• Comfort with AWS, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, continuous deployment, and working across multiple languages in the stack
• Basic front-end skills
• Strong written and verbal communication; self-directed, analytical, and collaborative
