AI is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a small, agile team focused on building a live AI product. You will take on full ownership of features, working directly with the CTO to transform ideas into shipped products.
The ideal candidate has considerable experience in software development and is adept in both frontend (React and TypeScript) and backend (Python and Node.js) technologies. This role offers the chance to make real impacts in a fast-paced environment.
We’re a very small, fast-moving engineering team building a live AI product used in the real world. Today, that team is just two engineers — and we’re looking for a senior full-stack engineer who wants real ownership, not pre-written tickets.
This role is closer to a founding engineer than a traditional IC position. You’ll work directly with the CTO to turn loosely defined ideas into shipped features. That means designing data models, writing backend logic, crafting frontend experiences, and wiring AI systems together — often in the same week.
If you enjoy ambiguity, value momentum over perfection, and like seeing your work reach users quickly, you’ll fit right in.
Frontend: React, TypeScript (advanced state management, real-time/streaming data)
Backend: Python and Node.js
Infrastructure & AI: AWS, vector storage, LLM-based systems
Full Ownership of Features: Take ideas from concept to production. One day you might be tuning backend logic for AI workflows; the next you’re refining a frontend interaction to make complex behavior feel simple.
Turning Ambiguity into Solutions: You’re comfortable starting with minimal direction, understanding the underlying problem, and building something practical and effective.
Designing Resilient Frontends: Build React + TypeScript interfaces that handle asynchronous processes, streaming responses, and evolving state without becoming brittle.
Shipping AI to Production: Integrate LLMs into real product flows, thinking through prompts, tool usage, latency, reliability, and cost.
Making Smart Trade-offs: You know when speed matters more than elegance — and when it’s time to clean things up.
Clear Communication: In a tiny team, decisions matter. You’ll explain your reasoning, flag risks early, and keep both technical and non-technical teammates in the loop.
Significant Production Experience: Around 5+ years building and owning software that real users depend on.
True Full-Stack Strength: Strong with React and TypeScript, plus solid backend fundamentals (Python and/or Node). You’re comfortable navigating unfamiliar parts of a codebase.
Operational Awareness: You’ve deployed systems, monitored them, and debugged issues in production.
Comfort with AI Systems: You don’t need ML credentials, but you should be comfortable working with LLMs and their quirks (latency, async behavior, non-deterministic outputs).
High Learning Velocity: You pick up new tools quickly and don’t need hand-holding to get started.
Experience working with vector, graph, or relational databases and understanding their trade-offs
Deeper AWS experience (queues, schedulers, observability, etc.)
Background in very early-stage startups or solo/lean engineering teams
