Job summary

Helion is seeking a senior software engineer to join an agile team, delivering scalable enterprise software using C#/.NET, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server on Azure. The role involves end-to-end software development, architecture decisions, and mentoring peers in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will work across technologies including React, TypeScript, Terraform, xUnit and Playwright, participating in all stages from design to deployment while ensuring quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 5 years proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns in scalable, highly available systems.
• 5 years in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica preferred) and experience with at least two of: React, Angular v4+, NodeJS, NoSQL databases, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• 5 years of understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON
• 5 years with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Python (Django/Flask), C/C++, C#, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go
• 5 years in defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs for optimizing short term execution while planning for long term technical capabilities
• 5-7 years of working with a variety of technology systems, designing solutions or developing applications in healthcare
• 5 years C# / .NET (SQL Server, Entity Framework Core)
• 3+ years React / TypeScript
• 5 years translating design mockups/prototypes/user stories into working applications
• 5 years producing fault-tolerant, efficient, maintainable code
• Azure App Service / Azure SQL Database experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Designing and creating engineering specifications for software applications and programs; writing code adhering to standards and performing code reviews.
• Idea generation, exploring and implementing technical solutions; monitor process against plan for functionality, scalability and performance.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies; assist in sprint planning and complete sprints through final execution of software applications.
• Drive story creation (DoD, Acceptance Criteria, estimation); create tasks in RTC or Jira and update status.
• Monitor work against production schedule and report issues to lead developers.
• Mentor other associate and intermediate software engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
