Job summary

Neumo seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join a 5-6 person team building and maintaining DMV kiosks software. This backend-focused role centers on VB.NET, C#, SQL Server, with Web Forms and WinForms components, and a migration plan toward Microsoft Azure Cloud.

You will contribute to Azure migration planning and execution while owning reliable production solutions. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of experience, deep SQL Server skills, and the ability to work across mixed tech stacks including

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, including query design and optimization.
• Strong experience with VB.NET and C#.
• Experience with SPA, .Net MVC, Web Forms, Windows Services, and WinForms development.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud architecture and development.
• Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring other engineers.
• Experience working in complex, multi-system environments.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with regulated environments and legacy-integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core application logic using VB.NET.
• Build and maintain WinForms desktop applications, including the SST client.
• Design and optimize SQL Server queries and data access patterns.
• Build and support web applications using C# / ASP.NET Web Forms, Web API, MVC, and RESTful APIs.
• Contribute to the modernization of kiosk applications with Azure Cloud and Vue.js.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across database, backend, and UI.
• Work within and improve complex legacy systems while maintaining production stability.
• Collaborate with developers, managers, product teams, and operations to deliver high-quality releases.
• Participate in code reviews and improve development standards and practices.
• Support automated testing and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
