Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III in New Jersey to join an agile team delivering trusted market-leading tech in a secure, scalable way. You will build production-grade code in Python/Terraform on AWS, drive automation, and shape architectures with governance and risk considerations.

You will lead AI-assisted development practices, ensure proper verification of outputs, and collaborate with SRE, security, and controls teams to meet firm standards and controls.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 4+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on AWS development including database services and supporting infra.
• Strong Python and Terraform skills for production automation and IaC.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS compute, containers, serverless and database integration.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools with verified outputs and security compliance.
• Knowledge of secure handling of inputs/outputs and data sensitivity in AI workflows.
• Experience with Jira/Bitbucket/Confluence and common IDEs (IntelliJ/VS Code).
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL in managed AWS data services; performance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Implement key components of a cloud platform on AWS with secure, scalable delivery.
• Develop production-grade Python code and infrastructure automation; review peers' code.
• Influence design decisions and align with SDLC, security, and controls.
• Collaborate with operations, SRE, security, risk, and controls teams to deliver compliant solutions.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and automated testing to speed delivery.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering while enforcing validation standards and governance.
• Utilize enterprise toolchains and AI features for productive automation.
• Use AI tools like Copilot with proper verification before production use.
• Define safe AI usage patterns and ensure reviews occur before merge and release.
