Job summary

Motional in Boston is seeking a Senior Engineer (Autonomy- Localization) to design, implement, and test software pipelines for autonomous vehicle localization. The role emphasizes production-grade C++ development and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

You will guide junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and help define APIs with the mapping team, while contributing to the advancement of localization technology across platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's or higher in CS, EE, robotics, or ME.
• Three years of software development for autonomous robotics.
• Experience in production C++ software development and data pipelines.
• Three years in sensor data processing, SLAM, and deployment optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test onboard and offboard software pipelines for autonomous vehicle localization systems.
• Conduct code review and guide junior team members on code quality, correctness and efficiency.
• Work with mapping team to establish API for localization-mapping interaction.
• Provide technical leadership in code quality and design.
• Collaborate with perception, motion planning, and controls algorithm experts.
