Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Velocity perception and localization team in Massachusetts. You will contribute to autonomy software powering Velocity, focusing on perception, localization, sensor fusion, and ML infrastructure.

You will collaborate with engineers across teams to build scalable, low-latency systems on embedded hardware and cloud resources, mentoring teammates and driving design decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack.
• Developing sensor fusion techniques for obstacle detection and localization.
• Developing machine-learning capabilities and infrastructure for robotic perception and localization.
• Optimizing runtime performance of autonomy algorithms by exploiting hardware acceleration.
• Building frameworks for large-scale replay and analysis of events in pre-recorded sensor data.
• Building frameworks to monitor and manage resource utilization on embedded compute platform.
• Building visualization tools for analyzing and debugging robot behavior.
