Apple Sports is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help redefine how users experience sports through the Apple Sports app, Apple TV, and more. As part of the Sports team, you’ll collaborate with world-class engineers to create reliable, scalable solutions for processing and displaying real-time sports data. **Description**
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain highly available real-time data services. As well as improve the performance and reliability of backend systems, employing industry-standard processes in distributed systems. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to implement the technical roadmap and deliver high-impact features while providing technical direction and mentorship to team members.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 5+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems.
+ Proficiency in Java with expertise in Object-Oriented and Functional programming.
+ Strong knowledge of concurrency control, data structures, and algorithms.
+ Experience with databases such as Cassandra and Redis, and stream processing platforms like Kafka.
+ Familiarity with stream processing frameworks and standard methodologies.
+ Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
+ Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Working knowledge of GraphQL.
+ Passion for sports and understanding of the sports data ecosystem.
+ Self-motivated with tight-knit collaboration and communication skills.
+ Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
**Pay & Benefits**
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
