Certificial is transforming how businesses and their suppliers share insurance coverage information by moving from point-in-time documents to real-time data on the Smart COI Network TM. We’re searching for a Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain our products and services APIs.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll develop and maintain our product and service APIs. You’ll also provide technical and business analysis to ensure the APIs deliver the desired results.

The Senior Software Engineer reports to the VP, Engineering and collaborates with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

What you’ll do:

1. Design and develop RESTful APIs to provide access to our core services and data
2. Create detailed API documentation to enable third-party developers to easily integrate with our platform
3. Create and maintain API client libraries to provide an easy-to-use interface for third-party developers
4. Track API performance metrics and work to improve the stability, scalability, and availability of the APIs
5. Monitor API usage to identify trends and anticipate customer needs
6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on the team
7. Build APIs that meet both functional and non-functional requirements such as scalability, availability, and reliability.

What you’ll bring:

1. A strong background in microservices architecture and hands-on experience designing and scaling APIs in a multi-tenant environment.
2. Deep understanding of API design, including REST, JSON, and OAuth principles, and comfort working with SQL/NoSQL architectures and web technologies.
3. 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining APIs in JAVA Spring boot.
4. 7+ years of hands-on experience building scalable API platforms.
5. Working knowledge of AWS EC2, ECS, EMR, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, AWS RDS, REACT JS, Angular
6. Strong Core Java, J2EE, Spring boot, and Hibernate
7. 7+ years of building multi-threaded backend components with SQL/NoSQL back end.
8. Hands-on experience in securing public-facing APIs
9. Proven track record of designing and developing RESTful web services
10. In-depth knowledge of web technologies, including HTTP, XML/JSON, web security, authentication/authorization protocols
11. Good understanding of relational databases and NoSQL databases
12. Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby, etc.)
13. Deep understanding of building microservices to meet scalability requirements.
14. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation:

This role will receive a competitive base salary, bonus, and benefits. The base salary range for US-based employees is $50,000-$500,000.
