Job summary

Fleetio is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Enablement team. You will own Fleetio’s public API, webhooks, and Developer Portal, ensuring a reliable, well-documented API for customers and partners to build on.

This remote role is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The ideal candidate excels in backend development and API design, with a track record of delivering scalable solutions, clean architecture, and strong communication in

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining public REST APIs with authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product, Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Design, plan, and implement improvements to Fleetio’s public API, webhooks, and Developer Portal.
• Engage in collaborative design and architecture of features and ensure well-tested, maintainable code.
• Participate in on-call rotation to keep API, webhooks, and integrations reliable.
• Set and uphold API standards and guide engineers across Fleetio.
• Improve developer experience with documentation, examples, sandbox environments, and tooling.
• Support customers and partners in using the API and API readiness for AI-driven use.
