Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled API engineer to guide development of robust API solutions and maintain high-quality code. You will design specifications, integrate relational data storage, and apply Azure services for scalable cloud-based workflows.

You will ensure performance, diagnose issues, and mentor junior engineers, contributing to a collaborative, high-standard engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant engineering experience.
• 3-5 years of API, cloud, or application-integration work experience.
• Strong foundational knowledge of API design, security, and testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops robust API solutions and reliable code.
• Creates technical design documents and diagrams.
• Incorporates relational data storage and integration strategies.
• Leverages Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, App Services, Containers, Cosmos DB).
• Applies messaging patterns for system-to-system communication.
• Ensures high performance, responsiveness, and quality of applications.
• Identifies and resolves defects to improve stability.
• Keeps platform code and data organized, automated, and well-documented.
• Mentors junior team members on best practices and design approaches.
• Handles moderately complex to complex issues with analytical evaluation.
