Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in .NET and React to design, develop, and modernize scalable enterprise applications. The role emphasizes API-first, cloud-native solutions, security, performance, and quality across backend and frontend domains.

You will collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software that meets regulatory obligations and enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience with C#/.NET Core and React/TypeScript.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and micro-frontend architectures.
• Experience with SQL Server and cloud platforms (Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and secure, observable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support RESTful APIs and backend services with .NET / ASP.NET Core (C#).
• Develop modern, responsive interfaces with React and TypeScript.
• Implement API security, authentication, and error handling.
• Apply CI/CD best practices with GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps and champion tests.
