Job summary
Alpaca is building its algo trading platform to deliver high-performance brokerage infrastructure for stocks, ETFs, options, crypto and more. You will design and architect the system, write substantial code across frontend and backend, and make critical decisions to ensure reliability, scalability, and speed in a distributed environment.
This early-stage startup expects you to wear many hats and drive growth.
Qualifications
- Strong software engineer with lead experience preferred.
- Coding in C/C++, Go, Zig, Rust, Java, Scala, Python.
- Low latency and high throughput optimization.
- Experience with messaging queues and message brokers.
- Analytical, data-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, databases, concurrency.
- System design with OO data modeling and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with OMS and RMS.
Responsibilities
- Build Alpaca's algo trading platform to satisfy users with high performance and quality.
- Design and architect the platform, writing code across frontend and backend, with emphasis on low-level hardware considerations for throughput.
