Job summary

Command|Link is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Command|Alert, the signal-processing core. You will own the correlation and alerting engine end to end, from rule evaluation to downstream notification, while mentoring teammates and driving major reliability improvements.

You will design scalable alerting solutions, ensure platform reliability under load, and work across OpenSearch, Kafka, and telemetry sources to deliver high-fidelity alerts.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, or operating high-reliability alerting or notification systems in production.
• Strong Kafka experience, especially producing and consuming event streams for downstream delivery.
• Working knowledge of telemetry and protocol data (security tooling output, monitoring telemetry, syslog, OpenTelemetry, NetFlow/sFlow, SNMP, ICMP, firewall logs).
• Mastery of Go and/or Python, with container orchestration and multi-cloud footprint.

Responsibilities

• Design and own solutions for how Command|Alert evaluates rule-based thresholds, ML anomaly scores, and correlation logic to produce high-fidelity alerts.
• Own the reliability of major pieces of the alerting pipeline, from OpenSearch evaluation through Kafka delivery to downstream notification.
• Turn telemetry sources into usable network/topology context for investigations and remediation.
• Contribute to generating alert definitions from the normalized data model using LLMs.
• Lead production issue resolutions and post-mortems, driving long-term fixes.
