Job summary

Command|Link, a global SaaS platform, seeks a senior platform engineer to drive architectural decisions and own end-to-end delivery. You will decompose a mature PHP monolith into Go microservices, develop observability, and scale distributed systems across cloud and network layers.

You’ll mentor engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and help shape a resilient, secure, and high-performance platform used globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend systems and distributed architectures.
• Expert-level Go with idiomatic patterns, concurrency, and minimal unnecessary complexity.
• Hands-on experience with LLM development processes and minimizing technical debt.
• Proven experience decomposing a PHP monolith; experience with strangler patterns and data ownership migration.
• Kubernetes for orchestration and OpenSearch for search/analytics workloads.
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming and Temporal for durable workflows.
• Experience with Memgraph or similar graph databases and graph queries in applications.
• Deep experience with logging, metrics, dashboards, and monitoring.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code across multi-environments; modular design.
• Relational and non-relational databases, data modelling, and query optimisation.
• Strong networking and systems fundamentals; network telemetry integration.
• Cloud exposure (AWS or Azure) and cost-aware architecture.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ownership mindset and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the decomposition of the PHP monolith into Go microservices with clear boundaries and data contracts.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Go services and API gateways with auth boundaries.
• Drive technical design discussions; balance speed with long-term maintainability.
• Architect and evolve distributed data infrastructure: Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, Memgraph.
• Integrate with third-party APIs, telemetry, and network infrastructure to extend platform.
• Support Terraform-managed cloud infrastructure and enforce reproducible, secure architectures.
• Support SLAs/ SLOs and CI/CD quality gates.
• Write clean, well-documented Go and enforce high coding standards through reviews.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and scalability gaps early.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers; promote best practices in distributed systems and network thinking.
• Participate in on-call rotations and foster operational excellence.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support team and organizational success.
