Job summary

Wonder is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help stand up an AI-enabled developer experience team. You will design tooling that connects AI into Wonder's codebases and systems, enabling efficient review, testing, and documentation workflows.

You will own end-to-end development of tools, collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams, and influence patterns for scalable AI-assisted engineering across the org. The role requires strong design skills and a pragmatic, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building with or on top of LLM-based tooling (agents, MCP servers, coding assistants, or similar).
• Experience integrating AI tools into real development workflows beyond end user use.
• Strong system design skills and ownership of tools/platforms end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship AI-enabled developer tooling, including context aggregation solutions, MCPs/CLIs, and sub-agents.
• Stand up autonomous development agents and cloud agent solutions.
• Bridge outside patterns into Wonder's stack and promote best practices for review, testing, and documentation.
• Optimize AI costs and route tasks to appropriate models with minimal engineer overhead.
• Define standards for tooling reviews and contribute to scalable developer velocity.
