Job summary

Angel is seeking an experienced engineer to own the Streaming API and lead end-to-end design for auth and user APIs powering apps across mobile, TV, and web. You will act like a founder, owning outcomes and driving rapid feature delivery with stakeholders.

You will steer experimentation, design clarity, and collaboration with external teams, prioritizing the highest leverage opportunities and building scalable, reliable systems that support a growing library of stories for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience writing high-performance reusable code.
• Experience with code agents and AI models to accelerate outcomes.
• Expert knowledge of Node.JS, React, GraphQL/REST/Protobuf/HTTPS, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, S3/Postgres/Redis, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
• DevOps principles (CI/CD, flow optimization, collaboration, ownership).
• Systems thinking (Kanban, pull systems, handoffs, TQM).
• Passion for careful design and architectural planning that leads to a future-proof codebase.
• Proactivity in a dynamic environment with diverse users and evolving requirements.

• Own the Streaming API: lead end-to-end design for Angel's auth and user APIs powering apps across devices.
• Act Like a Founder: take extreme ownership of outcomes within Angel Studios.
• Drive experimentation and rapid feedback with stakeholders to ship impactful features quickly.
• Clarify designs and plans to maximize collaboration with external teams and other business decisions.
• Prioritize high-leverage opportunities, cutting non-essentials to deliver what matters.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth adoption of APIs and build trust in systems.
• Execute End-to-End using AI, data, feedback, and testing to drive confident changes across the stack.
• Build resilient systems and thrive in ambiguity with creative problem solving.
