Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the App Test team to design, build, and scale tools powering the test automation lifecycle across mobile, desktop, console, and VR platforms.

You will develop intelligent tooling to improve test authoring, selection, execution, maintenance, and failure triage, leveraging AI to reduce manual effort and broaden accessibility. This role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and delivering reliable test outcomes.

Qualifications

• Software engineering experience designing, building, testing, and operating production software.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, Go, or similar.
• Experience building test automation frameworks, developer tools, distributed systems, CI/CD infrastructure.
• Experience designing and evolving services with scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Cross‑platform development across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and communicate technical decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale test automation infrastructure: frameworks, runners, orchestration, device-farm integrations, and supporting infra.
• Advance the AI-native test lifecycle: tooling for authoring, selection, execution, maintenance, and failure triage.
• Develop test orchestration and intelligence: connect planning, selection, execution, and failure analysis for faster feedback.
• Improve test reliability and debugging: improve stability, observability, diagnostics across a large test ecosystem.
• Shift quality earlier in the development lifecycle: integrate automated checks into CI/CD workflows.
• Drive projects end to end: own initiatives from problem definition to production deployment and measurement.
• Collaborate across engineering: partner with multiple teams to build scalable solutions for engineers.
