Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise AI Platforms team in a hybrid role based across CT and MN. You will design and deliver production-grade platforms that enable generative AI applications, drive architectural decisions, and lead cross-team collaboration to translate technology into business value.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of software development experience with Python and TypeScript, hands-on AI deployment, and strong cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience, including production delivery of AI solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in TypeScript for AI integrations.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying generative AI applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization/orchestration tooling.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience delivering large, distributed, production-grade apps in enterprise settings.
• Ability to lead architecture and solution design across teams in agile environments.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical details to business stakeholders.
• Experience deploying third-party vendor software in regulated environments.
• Terraform and Helm experience; OSS agent frameworks and observability tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, lead, and own the delivery of production-grade AI platform capabilities used to build and deploy generative AI apps.
• Drive architecture decisions and system design across multiple teams while shaping engineering standards.
• Lead stakeholder conversations and translate capabilities into measurable business value.
• Contribute to the technical strategy of the Enterprise AI Platforms organization.
• Participate in cross-organizational engineering events and share knowledge enterprise-wide.
