Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the CX Engineering org to shape AI-driven solutions across our product portfolio. You will build robust, scalable backend systems and lead architectural efforts with a focus on performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include leading end-to-end backend projects, implementing real-time data pipelines with Kafka, mentoring peers, and collaborating with product teams to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years (or Master's with 4+ years) in a related field.
• Proficient in Python; plus Golang or TypeScript.
• Experience with FastAPI or Django.
• Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
• Experience designing and maintaining production-grade APIs and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end backend projects with highly available APIs and data modeling.
• Design ML-enabled pipelines and integrate LLMs in production.
• Build real-time data processing using streaming tech (Kafka).
• Mentor engineers and uphold coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate needs into technical roadmaps.
