Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. CX AI Incubation team seeks an experienced AI/ML engineer to design and build transformative AI capabilities and AI-driven solutions. You will work on cutting-edge use cases—from delivery intelligence to edge AI—collaborating with product management and engineering to deliver scalable AI services.

You will contribute to model development, training, and deployment, including LLM/SLM work, with a focus on responsible, observable AI and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6+ years software engineering or Master's with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in Python, Java or C++, with model development, training, and deployment.
• Experience building enterprise-grade AI Agents and agentic workflows.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn and data manipulation tools for the AI lifecycle.
• Experience developing Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, or Generative AI techniques.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of AI-ML based services with product management and engineering teams.
• Analyze data, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models for operational improvements.
• Build and fine-tune architectures for NLP and perception tasks using transformer, distillation, RL techniques.
• Work with transformers, distillation, and reinforcement learning to improve performance and scalability.
• Support training and fine-tuning of LLMs and SLMs for domain tasks.
• Collaborate on development and deployment of AI agents, ensuring safe and explainable AI.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies to improve solution quality.
