Job summary

ComPsych is modernizing its technology stack to deliver AI-powered, customer-facing web and mobile experiences. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus more on system design, decomposition, and technical direction than writing code line-by-line, using AI tools to generate code and tests with your final validation before shipping.

You will collaborate with product and design to define data models, APIs, and reliable, secure systems, shaping how our engineering organization builds software

Qualifications

• Deep server-side experience in a modern language such as Java, Python, C#, Kotlin, or Go.
• APIs and data models: REST contracts, versioning, OAuth2/OIDC, schema design, and SQL under real load.
• Async and event-driven systems in production — Kafka or comparable, idempotency, and costs downstream.
• Built and operated production systems at real scale on AWS or Azure, with containers, Kubernetes or serverless, IaC, and CI/CD; on-call experience.
• A testing strategy you can defend — unit, integration, and contract testing; verifiable releases.
• Reliability and security you’ve been accountable for: SLOs, incidents, OWASP, threat modeling, PHI/HIPAA experience.
• Agentic AI as the primary development surface; you catch what it gets wrong before shipping.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design as your core contribution.
• Direct implementation with AI agents; write specs and debug when needed.
• Own testing as a design decision and validate that tests prove what they claim.
• Build security, reliability, and observability from the start.
• Review everything with rigor and maintain production judgment.
• Raise the bar for AI-enabled development and coach engineers.
